One month after the new Ontario Rental Registry was officially launched,  there are now nearly 8,000 rents added to the rent map!

Click the button below to find rents in your area OR go to:    https://rentalregistry.ca/en/on/map     Quick & easy steps you can take to support the registry:  Register your rent if you haven't already (don't forget to confirm your registration by email!) Share these Facebook, Instagram & Twitter (X) posts on your social media Forward this email to other renters you know  Reply to this email to receive a poster you can print to flyer your building and/or poster your building lobby, at bus shelters or other spots in the neighbourhood! Contact your city councillor, MPP & MP and ask them to share online & in their newsletter  Send us a selfie and 1-5 sentences about why you support the rental registry to be featured on the Ontario ACORN social media!  Have another idea on how you can help spread the word? Quick Reminders: 1. What is the Ontario Rental Registry?  The purpose of the registry is to track rising rents across the province. This will lead to better, publicly-available housing data that can help protect and create more affordable housing.  2. Why does ACORN support the Ontario Rental Registry?  Greater transparency for renters so they can make informed decisions about where they choose to live  Data will ensure tenants are not being charged more than the legal amount & will expose rent gouging - especially in cases like 'Above the Guideline Increases' in rent (AGIs) and renovictions.  Can help inform stronger affordable housing policies like vacancy control and universally applied rent control (not just units built prior to 2018).
